Color Coding Graphic Organizer

This graphic organizer teaches students a color-coded writing strategy for organizing paragraphs. The system uses three colors: green for the topic sentence (introducing the main idea), yellow for supporting details (at least 3 are recommended), and red for the conclusion (wrapping up the main idea). Students plan their paragraphs by filling in each section of the organizer, then use a checklist to ensure they’ve included all essential elements—a clear topic sentence, sufficient supporting details, a strong conclusion, logical flow, and proper spelling and grammar. The guide emphasizes flexibility, noting that students can adjust the number of details based on their specific assignment requirements, with the color coding serving as a visual tool to verify all necessary components are present.
