This student-facing presentation introduces the POWER Writing Strategy, a five-step framework designed to make students more confident and effective writers. Each letter in the acronym represents a stage in the complete writing process: P is for Plan, where students brainstorm their ideas and choose a topic; O is for Organize, where they take their brainstormed ideas and put them into a structured outline; W is for Write, the stage for composing the first draft; E is for Edit, where they act as “Word Detectives” to use the CUPS strategy (Capitalization, Usage, Punctuation, Spelling) to correct errors; and R is for Revise, the final stage where they improve the content, flow, and overall quality of the writing. The presentation uses graphics and simple language to guide students through each step.
